CHINTAN DESAI, M.D.

Chintan Desai, M.D. is a Staff Radiologist with Rose Radiology and Diagnostic Radiology Specialists, PA. He is board certified by the American Board of Radiology and skilled in all aspects of Diagnostic Imaging with a particular interest in PET (Positron Emission Tomography), PET/CT AND MRI imaging.

Dr. Desai grew up in Florida and received his Bachelor’s degree at the University of South Florida in Tampa. He majored in Chemistry and graduated in 1996 with honors. During his undergraduate training he was elected to the Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-Med Honor Society and was a member of the University of South Florida President’s Honor Roll and National Dean’s List.

Dr. Desai then attended the University of Miami School of Medicine from 1996 to 2000 and graduated in 2000. During medical school he excelled in Cellular Physiology and Membrane Biophysics and was awarded the American Heart Association Student Research Fellowship Award. During medical school he was active in research and presented papers at professional society meetings, most notable the Radiological Society of North America, which is extra special considering he was only a medical student at the time.

He then completed his Internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Tennessee in Memphis in 2001. He continued his Residency training in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Tennessee for four more years and graduated in 2005. While a Resident at the University of Tennessee he was a founding committee member for the Tennessee Radiology Society Resident Section. During his residency he was involved in Research and had many articles published and had scientific presentations made at many professional society meetings.  Dr. Desai continued his training and completed a Fellowship in Musculoskeletal MRI at Duke University in 2006.

Dr. Chintan Desai comes from a family background that values integrity, hard work, education and helping others and he joined Rose Radiology with the goal of providing the best Radiology care to patients and referring physicians. He looks forward to personalized service and excellent communication with the referring physician community.
